Jon Eggleton of Boynton Beach captured the Palm Beach County Senior Amateur Championship at Turtle Creek Club in Tequesta after producing the tournament’s best round when it mattered most.
Eggleton entered the final round following an opening-round 73 before shooting a 4-under-par 68 to finish the championship at 3-under 141.
The strong closing round gave Eggleton a one-stroke victory over Ryan Howison of Jupiter.
The championship brought together leading senior amateur golfers from across the area and was conducted by the Palm Beach County Golf Association.
The result adds another local championship to Palm Beach County’s active amateur golf calendar and highlights the depth of competitive golf throughout the region.
